Hylomar Universal Blue is the world’s leading non-hardening joint compound. It is used by many manufacturers of automotive equipment, compressors and heavy equipment as well as several world-class racing teams.
Its special polymer formulation is based on the original material developed in collaboration with Rolls-Royce and can withstand the high temperatures and intense vibrations found in the most demanding sealing applications. This product is a particularly effective sealant on large fit flanges subject to extreme vibration, distortion or seal movement.
Hylomar Universal Blue is resistant to a wide range of fluids, including all industrial fuels, oils, water, seawater, air, combustion products from turbines and piston engines , brine, methanol blends, petroleum, synthetic diether lubricating oils, gasoline, lubricating oils, kerosene fluids, and most fluorocarbon refrigerants.
Hylomar Universal Blue can be used to seal the faces of joints or threaded parts. It is effective on metal / metal or plastic / plastic contacts. It is typically used on water and oil pumps, instrument inspection covers, cylinder heads, oil sumps, intake manifolds, timing case covers, gearboxes and transmissions and as a coating for preformed gaskets.
Hylomar Universal Blue never hardens, which offers advantages for assembly and disassembly. As Hylomar does not dry out, it allows unlimited assembly time. This is particularly useful for mounting large components. When the component needs to be disassembled, Hylomar allows the seal to open easily.
